The founders of the Desta Foundation became involved in the Koka OVC Project during their employment at Florensis in Ethiopia.

 

This project includes the "Herman Hamer Center for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)" in Koka, which provides daycare for orphans and disadvantaged children.

This OVC Center was established by three horticultural companies in Koka: Florensis, DümmenOrange, and Syngenta.

 

In 2017, Florensis built the Herman Hamer OVC Center, where daily activities for the children take place.
