Local organization and history Koka OVC project

The local organization in Koka is "Koka-Ejersa Flower Farms' community support Project (KEFF-CoSP)",, formerly SAEDO.

In 2007, three businesses near the village of Koka, Florensis Ethiopia PLC, Red Fox Ethiopia PLC (DümmenOrange) and Ethiopia Cuttings PLC (Syngenta), founded the NGO SAEDO.

On 1 January 2023 the license of SAEDO expired and the activities in Koka are now hosted by "Koka-Ejersa Flower Farms' community support Project (KEFF-CoSP)".

In KEFF-CoSP staff of the three farms are active. There is a Board and an Assembly. Representatives from the farms and various high-ranking people from the area (university, city council) are involved. KEFF-CoSP organizational structure ensures low overhead costs. The project staff consists of a project coordinator, a social worker, teachers, a number of kitchen staff, an accountant/secretary, a number of guards and a driver.

An independent accountant conducts an annual audit of KEFF-CoSP's financial affairs. In addition, the Ethiopian government conducts a three-yearly audit of the organization.

If all requirements are met, KEFF-CoSP receives a new permit.
